      Abstract : This dataset comprises the results (scores) of the aquifer indication analysis at each well location for the Leduc Formation, the combined Swan Hills and Slave Point formations, and the Granite Wash in Alberta. The analysis included water recovery data from drillstem tests, water-production rates, and information on hydrocarbon-water contacts and wet wells (water-saturated) from the AER corporate database. For each data source, scoring criteria were established and a score was assigned at each location. Scores from all data sources at each location were merged, and a final aquifer indication score from 1 (low) to 4 (very high) was assigned.This digital data product is part of the Geothermal Atlas of Alberta, developed under the Mineral Grant provided by the Government of Alberta.
      Purpose : To provide the results (scores) of the aquifer indication analysis performed to create the aquifer indication layers for the Leduc Formation, the combined Swan Hills and Slave Point formations, and the Granite Wash, respectively, which are one of the input layers in the weighted analysis for geothermal favourability mapping.

    Attribute_Accuracy_Report : Any errors in the original data were carried into this dataset and no systematic checking of attributes from original data sources was undertaken. The aquifer indication scores provide a semi-quantitative description of the possibility of aquifer existence rather than quantification. It is a reasonable approximation based on the combined existing information of where the formation has shown it can produce water. Due to the data and information often explicitly targeting areas of potential hydrocarbon production, there are biases and limitations associated with this analysis.
