      Abstract : This gridded dataset represents the modelled distribution of temperature at the base of the Granite Wash in Alberta. The temperature distribution was extracted from a published 3D temperature model available as AGS Digital Data 2021-0030. Information about the methodology used to create this model is provided in AGS Open File Report 2021-05.This digital data product is part of the Geothermal Atlas of Alberta, developed under the Mineral Grant provided by the Government of Alberta.
      Purpose : To provide the distribution of temperature at the base of the Granite Wash in Alberta.

    Attribute_Accuracy_Report : The temperature grid for the base of the Granite Wash was generated using temperature records extracted from the 3D temperature model created by Brinsky et al. (2021). After extracting the predicted temperate data for the base of the Granite Wash, an empirical Bayesian kriging (EBK) interpolation using the “Geostatistical Wizard” tool in ArcPro was performed.For the EBK interpolation, a total of 399,851 data points were used as input into the model.    Process_Description : The process steps to create the temperature grid for the Granite Wash are provided below.1. Create a fishnet of constant interval; for this task, a 500m-by-500m grid was employed. This step aims to generate a layer for sampling the depth to the base of the Granite Wash and temperature values from their respective source grids.2. Using the fishnet sample points in step 1, extract the depth to the base of the Granite Wash from the respective source grid. This step was performed using the “Extract Multiple Values to Point” geoprocessing tool in ArcPro.3. With the updated fishnet sample points containing the depth to base values (step 2), the modelled temperature values from the 3D province-wide model were extracted and saved as a new field in the fishnet sample points GIS attribute table (named Predicted). This workflow was done using the “GA Layer to Points” geoprocessing tool in ArcPro. 4. Using the extracted temperate data saved in the “Predicted” field generated in step 3, perform an Empirical Bayesian Kriging (EBK) interpolation using the “Geostatistical Wizard” tool in ArcPro.5. After running the EBK interpolation, a geostatistical layer is generated. The next step is to save the generated geostatistical layer as a gridded dataset. For this project, the geostatistical layer was exported and saved as a GeoTiff.
