This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of the NTS map area 84K northeast (polygon features). The data are created in ArcInfo format and output for public distribution in Arc export (E00) and shapefile formats.
Purpose: For query and analyses of the surficial geology of NTS 84K/NE in GIS format.

Accuracy of the surface feature interpretations is estimated to be better than +/- 100 m on the ground, based on informed judgement of the effects of all combined map production errors. No formal accuracy check has been conducted to verify the interpretation is correct; however, field site data serve to provide control on interpretation. Site locations are measured with handheld GPS units, whose error is estimated at better than +/- 10 m on the ground. RMS error during georeferencing of the scanned image is less than +/- 10 m.
